KidQuest

Direct notice to parents

What participation involves

A parent provides an adult email and password, family name, child nickname, grade and PIN. We store salted credential hashes, account and profile identifiers, necessary sessions, parental notices, consent and withdrawal records, and subscription information. Participation produces chores and completions, reading choices and parent-approved reading rewards, household votes and rewards, and saved games, cards, pets and trades. Parents may add schedules and locations.

Internal use and service providers

We use family information internally to operate, save, personalize and secure the features your family chooses. Cloudflare hosts KidQuest, stores its data and delivers account emails as our service provider. Access to family information uses family and role checks, and parents can review their children's activity. Parents choose between profile cards showing child nicknames and pets, or nickname-and-PIN entry, in Family settings. Parents can save and share schedule images from their devices and choose who receives them.

Children can select a book they find or enter its title and author, then request reading credit after finishing it. Parents review the request and choose the reward. We store the book details, completion date, reading-credit request and parent approval. Book entry stays in KidQuest by default. Parents can enable Open Library search in Family settings. When enabled, the book query goes through our server to Open Library to retrieve public book details. We apply children's catalog classifications and content filters to search results. Parents review the results, choose appropriate books and verify reading.

Stripe/Link processes adult payments. KidQuest stores the subscription identifiers and entitlements used to manage access. Adults can use the same sign-in for other products, each of which maintains its own records.

Your parental consent

An adult accepts the Terms and gives parental consent in KidQuest. We email the adult a direct parental notice with a single-use parental-consent link. Completing that link authorizes child participation. This authorization covers children for whom the adult has parental or legal-guardian authority and the family features described in this notice. Every family completes this process.

Review, revoke and delete

Parents can review family information and request corrections or account deletion. Use Request deletion in Family settings, or contact support@kidquest.win from your adult account email. We verify parental authority before providing account information or processing deletion. Parents can withdraw consent through parental-consent management, which stops child participation. Removing a child deactivates the profile and preserves its history. Account deletion follows a separate verified request. We administer verified requests across the KidQuest stores and relevant providers and backups under our control, explaining applicable legal exceptions. Closing an adult identity shared with other products requires a choice about which accounts to close.

We retain information for the purposes described in this notice and administer verified deletion requests. We delete account data, including associated child profiles and their activity, after five consecutive years of account inactivity. Activity includes authenticated use by the adult or a linked child profile; shared adult sign-ins can also count as account activity. We delete information sooner when its retention purpose ends or when a verified deletion request or applicable law requires it. Deletion covers KidQuest systems and copies under our control, including relevant service-provider copies and backups. We retain records required by law, such as tax, payment or legal-dispute records, for their required purpose and period. We explain applicable exceptions when handling a deletion request.
